1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the def Utilities service, including any custom Discord bot we build, host or maintain for you, and this website (together, the "Service"). By commissioning a bot, using a bot we operate in your server, or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The service
def Utilities ("we", "us") designs, builds, hosts and maintains custom Discord bots that provide utilities such as moderation, ticketing, leveling, logging, role management and related features. Each bot is configured per server, and the exact features, commands and behavior are agreed during your build.
The Service operates within Discord and is subject to the Discord Terms of Service and Developer Policy. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the bot complies with those policies.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by Discord in your country) and have authority to manage the Discord server the bot is added to. You are responsible for the actions of the staff and members of any server where our bot is used.
4. Payment, builds & subscriptions
- Pricing typically consists of a one-time build fee plus a recurring monthly maintenance fee, as quoted to you before work begins.
- The one-time fee covers the design and configuration of your custom bot. The monthly fee covers hosting, monitoring, updates and support.
- Monthly fees are billed in advance and recur until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future billing but does not refund fees already paid.
- If a monthly payment is missed, we may pause hosting or support until the balance is resolved.
- Custom or add-on work is quoted separately and may be billed as a one-time charge.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines or Developer Policy;
- Break any applicable law, or facilitate harassment, abuse, doxxing or illegal content;
- Attempt to resell, copy, decompile, or redistribute the bot or its code without written permission;
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or infrastructure;
- Use the Service to spam, raid, or disrupt other Discord servers or users.
We may suspend or terminate the Service for any server that breaches this section.
6. Availability & support
We aim to keep your bot online and maintained, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Downtime can occur due to Discord outages, infrastructure issues, or maintenance. Support is provided by email at the address below, with response times depending on your plan.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the underlying code, frameworks and tooling used to build your bot remain the intellectual property of def Utilities. Your server-specific configuration, content, branding and data belong to you. The "def Utilities" name, logo and website content may not be used without permission.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We are not responsible for any loss of data, members, revenue, or other damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service, including outages caused by Discord. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription and removing the bot from your server. We may suspend or terminate the Service if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a way that risks our infrastructure or reputation. On termination, we may remove the bot and delete associated hosted data after a reasonable period.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
